The RED Friday Organization is dedicated to empowering Military, First Responders and their communities with the education, tools and training to recognize, and respond to psychological injury caused by stressful experiences on the job commonly known as Operational Stress Injury or OSI.
Lisa Miller and Karen Boire, whose spouses were deployed in Afghanistan, started RED Friday in early 2005. They encouraged the public to wear red on Friday to honor the Canadian Forces around the world and to ‘Remember Everyone Deployed’. The concept caught on and became an international movement. Now, RED Friday Organization is taking action to improve mental wellness in the public safety sector with Lisa and Karen’s help as members on our advisory board.
